Yesterday Brett was eating lunch with a colleague and they got to talking about their reputations as professors. Since Brett is new at VCUQ the students have been unsure about what to expect from him. Well, I think that has changed. Half joking and half serious Brett told his friend that he wants to be known as the meanest professor on campus. Some students were sitting close to their table, and one of them piped up with, "Bunnies are meaner than you are!" So much for that tough teacher reputation.

Hello Dianna! I found your blog via Kristy as we have a mutual friend. Anyway, we are moving to Abu Dhabi in a few weeks and I was wondering if you have any tips for the big move? I have two munchkins- a 5 and 1 year old (and yes, all the schools in AD are full and my daughter is a socialite! Egads!). I would love to know if you have any advice regarding any aspect of the move! Thank you so much!
Hi Shizzazalicious! I feel silly not knowing your real name. I would be happy to connect with you and give you any advice I can. It would be nice to have your email address. Maybe you could give it to Kristy and she could email it to me, or just get my email address from Kristy. We haven't been to Abu Dhabi yet, but hear it is great. The first bit of advice I would give is to prepare your children for the sights of this new culture they are moving into. Show them images of men and women dressed in the thobes, abayas, and shaylas. I don't know if it is this way in Abu Dhabi, but it was overwhelming here in Doha when we stepped off the plane. My friend told me that her little son was terrified of the women because he thought they were all ninjas. I'm sure you see what I mean.
